Writing and thinking.

If I ask you to write something, anything, for 30 minutes, you’d ask “What do you want me to write upon?” “What are you expecting?” “What is the purpose of this exercise?”

But instead, if I just leave you for alone for 30 minutes, with or without your smartphone, you’d most likely think yourself to misery.

As Tim Ferriss says, writing helps us in freezing our thinking on paper. It helps us identify if we are moving in circles. Thinking is done by the shallow mind and it is a master of its tricks to make us keep thinking.

One of the best exercises I have been doing for the last one year is to write 750 words daily. This exercise is called ‘Morning Pages’ and was introduced by Julia Cameron in her book ‘The Artist’s Way’.

To begin with, you can visit http://www.750words.com which can help you kickstart this habit for 30 days.
