Would you do it even if you were sure it would fail?
In the book ‘The Practice”, Seth Godin asks the question, “If You Knew You Were Sure to Fail, Then What Would You Do?”
Would I write this blog if no one read it?
Would I write my book if it didn’t sell even a single copy?
Would I meditate even if I don’t know what it will give me?
The answer to these questions for me is an astounding yes.
The obsession with the outcome has stopped me from creating for a while now. The shallow mind loves the obsession with the outcome. It keeps distracting us either with the fantasy of a wonderful outcome or the gloom of a disastrous one. In most case, neither happens.
It’s liberating to focus on our job as a creator, which is to create, and let the outcomes be the responsibility of whoever is in-charge of the outcome.
