Without the mess.

It's tempting to want to become healthier without the mess of going to the gym, sweating and needing to make tough choices about food.

It's tempting to earn projects without the mess of building a portfolio, having conversations with people, creating tension, and becoming okay with rejection.

Also, it's tempting to want to eat the donut without gaining the weight.

There's hardly anything worth having that doesn't come without its mess.

The mess would preclude the thing for things that make our lives better.

And it would be the residue for things that get served on a platter.
