Two kinds of work.

One is tangible and imminent. Someone's waiting for it. You can check it off from your to do list.

The other is ambiguous and without a deadline. But it leads you towards your goal. It helps you make progress, no matter how slow it may seem.

It's tempting to focus on only the first type of work but then you don't need to wonder why you don't make progress on your goals.

In order to do the second kind of work, it may help to spend 3-4 hours of deep work every day, just focussed on that project.

Over time, you will see that the path becomes less ambiguous and more tangible.
