The trap of avoiding risk.

Risk is usually looked on as a negative word. Taking risks is associated with being careless. "This is risky". "Avoid taking a risk".

We usually look at risk as a binary choice: all-in or fold. In both cases, the outcome that we don't play has significant odds.

Risk lies on a spectrum. What we need to figure out is our risk appetite is. It can't be 100%. It can't be zero either.

Change is always risky. Without risk there can't be any change. And there is no growth without change.
