Pursuing multiple goals.

It's tempting to strive to reach multiple goals at the same time. It gives us the illusion of progress. The most likely symptom of this is that we are busy all the time.

But this is hardly effective. In terms of input, there is a lot of work. In terms of output, there is nothing much to show.

Instead, we can choose one goal and put ourselves on the hook. We can make a deadline imminent by which we will take the actions that will lead to that goal.

When we are driving, we choose to drive to one city before going to the next. We can't drive to New York and LA at the same time.
