The peace (not war) of art.
“Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance.”
~ Steven Pressfield, The War of Art
When we work on our art alone, it may feel like a war. A war against a part of ourselves that wants to keep us safe, that is afraid of change, that likes things just the way they are.
But when we work together, when we have people who are by our side, cheering us on, rooting for us, asking how we are doing, making art can be peaceful. Every time Resistance says something, our friend can come in and counter it in a friendly manner.
It doesn't always have to be a war. We can talk it out.
