The muse and the mind.
The words just flow. There is no decision making. It just happens. The struggle just vanishes.
How does that happen?
Yes, it could be the muse taking over.
But what does that actually mean?
What I understand is that two different sources of thought are there in the Central Nervous System.
One is the brain, with the pre-frontal cortex calling the shots. It’s that part which is the ‘I’ or the ‘ego’ which keeps track of everything right and left. It can do a lot but one thing it can’t do is decide.
The other is the gut. The gut just knows. It acts. There is no thought there. Just the nudge to act.
The trick here is that the gut can’t take over if the pre-frontal cortex is doing its thing.
So when I sit down to write this blog, I stop thinking or deciding. I let it come. And then it comes.
From the gut, or the muse, whatever you want to call it.
