The ghost behind the curtain.
Paralyses us. Makes us stick to the status quo.
To break the status quo, we need to get up, and remove the curtain.
That entails risk.
What if there really is a ghost? What’s the point of removing the curtain? What possible good can come out of that?
This leads us to perennial fear and hiding.
When we decide to leave one ghost out there, one that our mind invented, then our mind gets into the habit of creating ghosts, here, there, everywhere.
A set of better questions might be:
If there is a ghost, why is it hiding behind the curtain? Why doesn’t it show up? What is the ghost afraid of?
Also, what are we afraid of? Is hiding a possible solution? Is ‘later’ our friend?
When we start facing these questions, then the ghost vanishes.
Not one ghost, but all of them.
