The last-minute mind!
That's where all good intentions go to die.
The last minute mind might act out of fear or laziness or just pure evil. We can't trust the last minute mind to take intelligent, long term decisions. It is an instant gratification addict.
The key here is to take the power away from the last minute mind by creating systems that enable us to take action without needing to take a decision at the last minute. This enables us to shift from emotional decision-making to strategic decision-making.
The more we make it easier for the last-minute mind to follow our decisions and systems, the more effortless it will become to achieve our goals.
