You were late to a meeting you were not supposed to be late at.
You made a mistake in the slides to the client.
You didn't reply back to the email you should have replied to. And now it's too late.
Now what?
You can beat yourself up. You can let shame and guilt take over. You can tell yourself a story about how you are no good. You can listen to that voice inside your head that wants you to make up excuses.
Or you can look at it as the way things are. You can observe what happened that led to this mistake. You can make changes that would reduce the likelihood of it happening again.
It's a choice. There is only one option that helps us change the pattern. And it does not involve blame.
