Tackling overwhelm.
It's not easy to do that in your head.
The brain has not evolved to tackle multiple stimuli and hold them in place. For the brain, an unexpected stimuli is a survival threat that activates fight, flight or freeze mode instantaneously. It does not say, "Oh, I think there's a lion here. I will tackle it tomorrow."
So, if we keep that stimuli in our heads and say, "Oh, I have that meeting in two days. I will tackle it later", we put the brain in a pickle. It doesn't really know how to respond.
The way out here is to take everything out by writing and identify what needs to be done and then let the writing guide you through the overwhelming situation.
