Deactivating the amygdala.
When we try to work on something new, something audacious, something that will change the status quo, the amygdala gets activated.
An activated amygdala creates doubt, it wants us to play safe. It wants us to get our ducks in order before we go out and make the change inevitable.
It knows that with the current status quo, we are alive, no matter how miserable, but it doesn't know if we would survive once the change takes place.
It's important to deactivate the amygdala by figuring out what done looks like and helping it understand that we are not in danger from our creativity.
