Self-sabotage.
Steven Pressfield writes about accidental incapacitation in his book "Turning Pro" where he talks about soldiers in WWI who shot themselves in the foot just so that they can skip going over the trenches. We, as entrepreneurs and creatives, do that too.
The force of self-sabotage within us is cunning and strong. It makes us delay stuff that cannot be delayed, it makes us make mistakes we can't afford and it makes us seem unprofessional in our eyes and in the eyes of those we seek to serve.
This force is most powerful when we are at the threshold, when we are about to level up. The only thing we can do to counter this force is to keep going, keep taking action and keep moving forward. There is no other way.
