Rest and recovery for the brain.
When we work for the entire day, trying to get in ten, twelve or even more hours of work every day, we do not give our brain the time and space to recover.
Our pre-frontal cortex is a very thin layer in our brain which allows us to perform all the executive functions like decision making, logical and critical thinking. When we overload the pre-frontal cortex, it leads to diminished performance.
It’s better to focus for 3-4 hours each day, doing deep work, and to use the remaining time to rest and recover for the next day.
