Resistance is mediocrity.
Mediocrity is all around us. In the industry, in education, in politics, in religion, in news.
Mediocrity is the lowest common denominator.
And mediocrity is like a black hole. Once you give into it, there’s no coming out. It sucks you in.
And once you give in, then it will make you miserable for not doing the work.
It’s a vicious game. It’s not fair.
The only way to win this game is by not giving into mediocrity. Is by showing up no matter what. Is by doing the work. Is by putting ourselves on the hook. Consistently.
This is a skill that we need to learn. How to be on the hook all the time? Because it is very difficult to be back on the hook once we give into the mediocrity.
