Pushing against resistance.
Resistance is the repelling force coming from a work in potential. When we sit down to work on an important email or task, we feel a strong force that resists us from going forward. It tempts us to change track and do something else instead, anything else.
Most of the time, it gives the rationale that we are not ready, that we are not in the right state of mind and hence the outcome will not be good enough. The more we listen to this voice, the more things get procrastinated and the more miserable we become.
The way to counter this force is to push back, is to continue writing the email or doing the task, irrespective of what it says. One way we can do that is by wanting to not write a good email or not to do a good job. When we take that pressure away, we might come up with version 1 which we can update and make better in the later versions.
