Pick one goal.

More often than not, we strive to achieve multiple ambitious goals, especially when we sit down to write our new year's resolutions.

While all the goals might be virtuous and helpful, this approach also puts us off the hook because we do not have one clear goal that is a priority. Thus, we move a little in many directions but do not reach our destination in any.

Instead, if we simply focus on one goal and let everything else work as it currently working, we become focused. We know what we need to get done. We have a clear destination.

Once we achieve this goal, we can put it on a back burner, and pick the next one which would then become a priority.

If you try to visit Amsterdam, Paris and New York together, you might not even be able to get out of your house. But if you pick the first city to reach, it's likely you would be able to visit all three.
