As freelancers, it's tempting to want that the world pay us to do what interests us, that feeds our passion.

But, the world isn't interested our passion. They pay to get their problems solved.

If you help solve enough problems for people who are willing to pay for it, you might earn the bandwidth to work on your passion.

It might most likely require you to work on things you would not work on if you weren't getting paid for it.
