Intentions and actions

How many times do we do something which is exactly opposite to what we intend to do? We intend to study to score more marks and instead end up bingeing the entire series. We intend to be healthier but end up ordering from the food delivery apps. We intend to get out of debt but end up buying another shiny thing on EMI.

Do the intentions count? Do they serve a purpose? Does a bad action done with noble intention no longer remains a bad action?

Intentions hold no meaning, no purpose. They don’t do anything. They are a lazy alternative to taking action. We hide behind our intentions.

You can strongly intend to become as fat as possible but if your actions are eating healthy and working out, no amount of intention can counter that. Same is the other way round.

I will end with a quote I read a few years back: ‘We judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their actions.’ We should judge both by the actions. Intentions are useless.
