Ignoring the Hiccups
On the way of our practice, we would run into hiccups.
Something would happen. We would cheat on our diet. We would not sit down and finish what we had planned to finish. We would get distracted. We would lose our willpower.
The common tendency is to analyse these hiccups and beat ourselves up over it. This gives a lot of power to the shallow mind and it can compound this one day of hiccup into days or weeks of misery.
There is no point in analysing the hiccups just like there is no point analysing a breakup. The best thing to do, although counter-intuitive, is to forget it and move on to the next day. This would require a lot of conscious emotional labour.
Nothing can make us forget a hiccup than a good day of work.
