"I" or "We"?

Which one to use when writing a message, "I" or "We"?

"I" makes the message personal. It puts you on the hook. It makes it better for the reader because she now knows who is talking to her.

"We" can become a hiding space, especially when connection and trust are what we are going for. Yes, it gives the illusion of a team or an organisation backing you up but it also reminds the reader of "corporate speak," where no one is ready to raise their hand and be accountable.

Why would you want to not be on the hook?
