Getting started again.

Getting started is difficult. It takes all this effort to overcome the threshold energy to do the thing for the first time. There is tremendous Resistance. Everything is new. Everything feels threatening. But if we keep going we do reach the point where we have started.

Getting started again is different. It’s difficult in a different way. This time around we know how things work because we have gone through them already. But now, we are doing them with a surge of guilt. That we shouldn’t have left them earlier. That guilt is the biggest hurdle in getting started again.

It takes courage to get started again. When we have not worked out for so many days, it’s easier for us to put the workout to tomorrow instead of doing it today.

The human being is a creature of habit. And habits happen through repetition. We are what we repeatedly do. And 5 days back to back is enough to build a habit. The momentum makes it easier for us to keep going.
