Thank you, next.

When we start showing up with intent, there are chances that we do not get what we are seeking. The potential client we reach out to does not sign up. The girl/guy we ask out for a date does not agree to go out with us. The jobs we apply for do not reply to our application.

When we face rejection, in one form or another, it can feel like a punch to the stomach. Our default reaction may be to return to home base and try to get our things in order. We see the rejection as a sign that something's off. That, only if we had our house in order, we wouldn't have faced this rejection.

But this is just procrastination & fear taking us away from the arena and delaying our next interaction, in order to keep us safe from the next rejection. Sometimes, unfortunately, this task of getting our house in order lasts a lifetime and we never get back into the ring.

Alternatively, we can say, "Thank you", move on to the next prospect and get back in the ring again, show up as our best selves again. The more we do this, the easier it gets to accept the rejections as part of the process of showing up as a professional.
