Finding "people like us".

The world is full of "people not like us", people who'd like to share their opinion whether we ask for it or not, over how we look, what we do, what we should do, and whatnot. And these opinions have a strong tendency to become overbearing.

Finding "people like us" changes everything. They change how we feel about ourselves, our challenges, and our accomplishments. They hear and see us. They are able to relate to and empathise with us.

Everyone will have a different group of "people like us" but many times they may not be the ones who live near where you live, who have the same skin colour, who even speak your native tongue.

Now, we can find our "people like us" half way around the planet. The geographical boundaries no longer hold us back. Inertia as always will try to stop us but it won't have the same grip if we don't let it.
