Slight discomfort.
Resistance wins because we try to avoid slight discomfort.
The discomfort of closing the emails tab and opening a blank page to write. Or the discomfort of leaving the sofa and starting a workout. Once we start writing or start working out, the discomfort is no longer there.
Instead of fighting this slight discomfort, we can choose to embrace it.
There’s a secret that real writers know that wannabe writers don’t, and the secret is this: It’s not the writing part that’s hard. What’s hard is sitting down to write.
What keeps us from sitting down is Resistance.
