Choosing the game.
“We often spend more time figuring out how to win the game we’re in instead of choosing which game to play in the first place.”
~ Seth Godin, This Is Strategy
There are games that we play because of proximity. Because we engage with the people that are around us, whether geographically or through the internet.
And there are games we choose to play because they lead us to where we seek to go.
Each game requires resources, time, energy, attention and money. And one of these acts as the constraint. More often than not, it's energy which is overlooked.
Choosing the game starts with letting go of the games we are already playing. We may choose to play some of them again. But unless we let go, we won't have a choice.
Even the game of choosing the game requires energy.
