Avoiding Panic.
Panic has become our default feeling when we are working.
Deadlines and last minute work. That’s what we have been trained for, for years.
We study (cram) when the exams are coming, there is a rush, and then we are done with the exams.
This is not productive. This is not effective. This is not healthy.
Instead, we can strive to avoid panic and embrace calm.
We can set deadlines that are reachable without panic.
We can identify our priorities and focus on finishing them, one at a time.
I know it’s easier said than done, especially in our minds, but it is worth pursuing.
2 things that I have been finding very helpful in doing this:
- Dailies [I will also write a detailed blog on it soon]
- Basecamp [Basecamp offers a free version with 3 projects. That should be good enough for a starting creative. Use one project as your HQ and the others as temporary projects that will be wrapped up when you are done.]
I will try to write more in details about both of these. Will like the post here when I do that.
