Action steps, not goals.

It's easy to become obsessed with goals: lose x kg weight, earn y amount of money, get a score or rank of z.

But that doesn't really help us in reaching the goal, does it?

Rather, it creates a kind of vacuum with the present situation which makes it even more difficult to take action. Instead of looking at how far we have come up, we keep looking at how far away the peak of the mountain still is and we end up giving up sooner rather than later.

Instead, can we focus on the action steps we need to take in the present that will start moving us in the direction of the goal, that will change the status quo for the better? The more we take action, the more likely we are to continue and reach the goal without much stress.

What is it that you want? What action steps can help you get started in moving in that direction? What is stopping you from taking these action steps?
