The work that matters.
What we do as entrepreneurs is the hard work and emotional labour of tackling ambiguity.
It's unlikely that this work can be easily listed on a to-do list.
The nature of ambiguity and the emotions associated with the work make it less likely for the mind to list them.
Instead, if we decide to focus for 3-4 hours every day to work on the hard problem, by sitting down with ambiguity and trying to make sense of things, we will whittle at the problem and come out with some clarity on the other side.
Deep work: the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task.
- Cal Newport, author of the book "Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World"
PS. I use Groove and allocate 4 grooves for Deep Work to help me get through the hard work.
